This prize is open to artists from around Australia.Prizes include:
- A $25,000 major prize (acquisitive), plus 4 weeks studio time in scenic
Albany with $2500 for expenses.
- An all expenses paid visit for the winner to Albany, WA, during the
exhibition.
- Two $1000 Highly Commended Awards.
Works go through a pre-selection process and no less than thirty artworks are selected for the exhibition.Free freight of finalists' paintings to Albany from capital cities throughout Australia is provided.
Works must be substantially painted but can include elements of drawing, pastel, charcoal, collage, printmaking etc. Paint must remain the dominant medium.
