Details:
Held annually in Sheffield, Town of Murals, Tasmania, this unique event sees nine finalist artists engaged in a public paint off over 6.5 days.Finalists are to complete a 2100mm high x 4800mm wide landscape orientation mural, using the designated poem as their murals central theme and inspiration.A new poem is selected each year.
The 2012 poem is Food Bowl.
The major Mural Fest Judges award is $8000.
Peoples Choice Award $2000.
Visitors Award is $1000 in which the mural with most number of votes during production wins.
Artists Choice award is $1000.
All murals apart from the major winner are available for purchase. The mural which wins The Mural Fest Judges Award is acquired by Tasmania Regional Arts Kentish.
All finalists receive $800 for production costs.
The 2012 paint off will commence on April the 7th and will conclude on April 14th.
