This prize is held as part of the The Penola Coonawarra Festival.The major John Shaw Neilson Acquisitive Art Prize is $5000.
The winning work becomes part of the Penola Coonwarra Festival Collection.
It also includes the Youth Art Prize (formerly the Robert Riddoch Rymill Memorial Prize) of $100.
Works are to be inspired by the poetry of John Shaw Neilson.
